The 2nd Annual Frosty Paws Winter Carnival was another success attracting over 200 attendees and grossing over $27,000. Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters who joined us on Saturday January 23, 2010 for an evening of musical fare, mystic carnival entertainment and great food and wine. In support of Rochester's furry friends, the Frosty Paws Winter Carnival included a live and silent auction, tarot card reader, caricature artist, handwriting analysis, face painting, photo booth, stilt walker, jugglers, and animal psychic all among the magnificent artistic surroundings of ARTISANworks! It was a lot of fun so keep your eyes open for next year's winter fundraiser. Also, the name of this event is likely to change so let us know if you have an idea for a new one. If your event name is selected, you will win a pair of tickets to next year's fundraiser. Send your event names by email now.

Cable TV Feature - Pets On Demand

Time Warner Cable's local On Demand channel- Rochester On Demand channel 111- will now carry a bi-weekly series that highlights the animals available for adoption at the Animal Services Center. People interested in seeing the cats and dogs that are up for adoption, can now see a selection of 6-10 adoptable animals right on their TV. The show will be updated twice every month.

Time Warner Cable's local On Demand channel was a perfect fit for getting the word out about these adorable pets that are in need of a good home. People can see a short clip of the animal in action simply by going to Digital Cable channel 111 and choosing the "Pets" category. Once there, choose the "Adopt-A-Pet" show.

Rochester On Demand is currently pursuing additional shows that serve the local community to compliment the current selection of entertainment on the channel. Stay tuned for more updates.

Mark your calendars for June 12, 2010 when we will hold our fourth annual race and dog walk fundraiser to benefit the Animal Services Center.  Last year went well with great weather, over 200 runners, and nearly as many dog walkers.  We can't make any guarantees about Rochester weather, but we are making a few changes that we believe will help boost our numbers even further.

This year, the race and the dog walk will not overlap.  The race registration will remain at 7 a.m and the race will again start at 8 a.m.  However, we are delaying the walk registration until 9 a.m. and the walk starting time until 10:30 a.m. We expect this later start time to appeal to more dog walkers. It will also enable runners to also participate in the dog walk with their families and pooches.

This event is sanctioned by USATF and the race course is certified to be accurate by the USATF #NY07102KL.

If you are interested in getting involved with The Fast & The Furriest 2010, please contact us at VSASinc@gmail.com or at 585-727-2533.
