Another banner year for the Fast & the Furriest ®
This year’s The Fast & The Furriest Races, Walk and Pet Fest ®was a great success! Our tenth annual event raised more than $70,000 for Rochester Animal Services. In addition our clinic administered 200 rabies and 200 DAPP vaccinations and 100 microchips were implanted. The best news of all is that 5 dogs and 15 cats found forever homes. We also have additional adoptions pending on four other dogs.
The day featured our largest registered attendee group to date. 309 runners registered for the 10K race along with 319 runners for the 5K race. The dog walk had 210 registered walkers. Many Rochester Animal Services alumni were in attendance and it was wonderful to see so many dogs return to enjoy the day with us.
The food trucks provided us with delicious food and Travis Fitch kept us entertained all day with his musical stylings. The Pet Contests seemed to be a huge hit with the crowd too.
