The Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity is a guaranteed income plan, which also provides lasting benefits to Animal Services. Assets are transferred with the agreement that a fixed rate of return will be paid to the named beneficiary (ies) for life. The income yield is greater for older beneficiaries. There is usually a significant tax benefit the year the gift is made and a portion of the annuity income in subsequent years may be tax-free.

Pooled Life Income Fund

Your investment gift is combined or “pooled” with other gifts from other donors and invested as a common fund. Annual earnings are then paid to you and/or other beneficiaries for life. The amount you receive varies with the fund’s earnings.

IRAs and Retirement Plans

You can make the Verona Street Animal Society a primary or contingent beneficiary of your TSA, IRA, or retirement plan. Additionally, retirement plans and IRAs may be “rolled over” into charitable life-income gifts.

Savings and Checking Accounts

Through a simple procedure, you can transform your bank accounts into charitable trusts without ever losing the sue of the funds in them.

Insurance policies initiated in the past may no longer be needed for family security, so the gift of a paid up policy may result in substantial tax savings.
